Willie Nelson, 91, Cancels Concert Appearances on Doctor’s Orders
"We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor’s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days," reads a statement posted to the legendary country singer’s social media. Nelson was scheduled to perform at the Outlaw Music Festival this weekend.
In 2018, Nelson left the stage in San Diego during his first song due to breathing problems. Days later, he canceled an entire month of shows due to a severe flu.
This time, Nelson is expected to recover quickly and plans to join the festival next week, according to the statement. In his place, son Lukas Nelson and the Nelson Family Band will perform a special set that includes Willie’s classics and other songs.
The 2024 Outlaw Music Festival Tour lineup also includes Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, and Celisse — ensuring a stellar musical experience despite Nelson’s absence.
A documentary about Nelson and his family premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival.
